Dear Mayle,
Please refer to your letter 54405/47 of the 17th September regarding the Parliamentary Delegation, and to our telephone conversation on the 23rd September arising out of it.
2.
I enclose, as requested, a copy of the Delegation's brief for transmission to the Governor of Hong Kong. This copy contains the additional memorandum (No.15) regarding the status of Hong Kong which I cleared with you over the telephone. I also enclose an extra copy of memorandum No.15 to complete your copy of the brief enclosed in my letter F 12222/28/10.
3. As I have told Wallace, we have now heard that the Delegation will be flown to Nanking from Hong Kong in their special aircraft on the 6th October. They will therefore be spending the night of the 5-6th October in Hong Kong. As soon as we know definitely that the Delegation will be arriving in Hong Kong on the 6th November on their homeward journey you will be informed. You will recall that the Delegation are scheduled to leave Hong Kong for Singapore on the 9th November.
